As you hike, keep an eye out for wildlife; this is a prime chance to spot monkeys, sloths, snakes, tarantulas, dart frogs, and other unique jungle inhabitants.
Returning to the lodge for a noon lunch, you’ll have time to rest and get ready for the next leg of the adventure. At 2:00 p.m., a 40-minute drive will take you deeper into the jungle, where you’ll set up a remote camp. Under the guidance of your hosts, you’ll prepare hammocks and mosquito nets, creating a secure and cozy space for the night.
Dinner will be cooked over an open campfire, adding an authentic touch to the meal. Vegetarians can enjoy a variety of delicious, edible jungle fruits and vegetables, while others might opt for freshly caught fish prepared in traditional Amazonian style. Whether you choose to catch dinner yourself or bring chicken and rice from the lodge, it’s a meal that reflects the jungle’s abundance.
As night falls, you’ll gather around the fire to stargaze and hear stories about the Amazonian people and their culture, surrounded by the tranquil sounds of the rainforest. You’ll sleep under the open sky, immersed in the beauty of the jungle—an unforgettable night spent in nature’s heart.
At 8:00 a.m., you’ll start the day with breakfast before setting off to visit a native village nestled in the Amazon. Here, your guide will introduce you to the local way of life, explaining how the community grows crops and sustains itself. You’ll learn about manioc root and its importance, especially in the creation of farinha, a staple flour that forms the backbone of many traditional dishes.
Immersed in this environment, you’ll experience a lifestyle rooted in nature, without electricity or modern amenities—a humbling glimpse into a simpler, resilient way of life. Lunch is shared with the villagers, creating an opportunity to connect over food and gain insight into Amazonian customs.
After lunch, you’ll head out on a wildlife-spotting expedition, paddling quietly in small canoes along the riverbanks to maximize your chances of observing animals in their natural habitat. Birdwatching and wildlife spotting become even more captivating as the sun sets, casting a golden glow over the jungle.
Once night falls, the adventure continues as you join the locals in spearfishing, with a chance to encounter some of the jungle’s nocturnal creatures, including tree-dwelling snakes. Returning to the village, you’ll enjoy a meal prepared with your fresh catch, sharing stories and laughter under the thatched roof of a native house.
For the night, you’ll sleep in hammocks under mosquito nets, embraced by the warmth and hospitality of your Amazonian hosts—an unforgettable close to a day filled with culture and adventure.
On this final morning, you’ll rise at 7:00 a.m. for breakfast, preparing for a last adventure through the floating jungle. Depending on the season, you’ll either hike through this unique ecosystem during the dry season or glide quietly through its watery pathways by canoe during the rainy season. This area offers the rare chance to spot wildlife, including the elusive boa constrictor moving gracefully through the trees.
After returning to the lodge, you’ll enjoy lunch and have time to relax and pack up for the journey home.
