Discover the magic of the Amazon with our jungle lodge tours to Maçarico, just 90 kilometers from Manaus. Choose from two to five days of adventure, staying at our comfortable jungle lodge and exploring the lush rainforest and its wildlife.

Your journey begins and ends in Manaus. We provide all necessary transportation, picking you up at your hotel on the morning of your first tour day and returning you after your adventure. If needed, we can drop you off at another location, such as the airport.

Itinerary

Day 1

  • 8:00 a.m.: Pickup from your hotel and transfer to Seasa Port.
  • Speed Boat: Cross the Amazon River, stopping at the Meeting of the Waters for photos and information.
  • 11:30 a.m.: Arrive at the lodge.
  • 12:00 p.m.: Lunch.
  • 2:00 p.m.: Jungle activities begin. Enjoy wildlife spotting in indigenous canoes and piranha fishing.
  • 6:30 p.m.: Return to the lodge.
  • 7:00 p.m.: Dinner.
  • Night Activity: Caiman spotting. The guide will catch and release a caiman for educational purposes.

Your adventure begins at 8:00 a.m. with a hotel pickup, setting off for the Seasa Port, where a speedboat awaits to take you across the Amazon River. Early in the journey, the captain will pause at the stunning Meeting of the Waters, where the dark Rio Negro meets the sandy-hued Rio Solimões. This natural phenomenon offers a breathtaking contrast and provides a perfect opportunity for photos and learning about this unique convergence.

Crossing the Rio Solimões, you’ll arrive in Careiro da Várzea, a small town where a kombi van will transport you along the BR319 highway to the Mamori area. There, another speedboat ride takes you deeper into the jungle, bringing you to the lodge by 11:30 a.m.

Lunch is served at noon, followed by a couple of hours to unwind—explore the lodge, take a swim in the Amazon River, or simply relax before the activities begin. At 2:00 p.m., you’ll head out on a wildlife adventure, boarding traditional wooden canoes for a chance to spot Amazonian animals and birds. With luck, you might encounter sloths, playful monkeys, and the enchanting river dolphins known as botos.

Your guides will also teach you to fish for piranhas, an exciting challenge that, if you’re up for it, can result in a unique addition to dinner. After piranha fishing, you’ll witness the Amazonian sunset—a mesmerizing spectacle that paints the sky with warm hues. By 6:30 p.m., you’ll return to the lodge for dinner at 7:00 p.m., enjoying a meal with the sounds of the jungle around you.

The evening adventure continues as you head out into the night to find a wild caiman. With expert care, your guide will carefully catch one of these ancient creatures, sharing fascinating details about its life and habitat before releasing it safely back into the water. After this exhilarating experience, you’ll return to the lodge to rest, ready for more adventures the next day.

Day 2

  • 5:30 a.m.: Amazonian sunrise.
  • 7:00 a.m.: Traditional Amazonian breakfast.
  • 8:00 a.m.: Jungle trek. Learn about the flora and fauna, with opportunities to see various wildlife.
  • 12:00 p.m.: Lunch at the lodge.
  • 2:00 p.m.: Travel to our jungle camp, set up for the night, and prepare dinner. Enjoy a campfire and stories under the stars.

Your day begins early at 5:30 a.m., watching the Amazon awaken with a breathtaking sunrise. Afterward, you’ll return to the lodge for a hearty, traditional breakfast at 7:00 a.m., savoring the local flavors as you prepare for a morning of exploration.

By 8:00 a.m., the jungle trek begins with a 30-minute drive to the trailhead. From 8:30 to 11:30 a.m., you’ll embark on an immersive hike through the heart of the Amazon. Your guide will share knowledge about the jungle’s diverse flora and fauna, introducing you to medicinal trees, vines, and other natural resources. Keep an eye out for the Amazon’s unique wildlife—monkeys, sloths, snakes, tarantulas, dart frogs, and countless other fascinating creatures that call this jungle home.

Returning to the lodge by noon, you’ll enjoy a refreshing lunch, followed by time to gather your gear for the next adventure at 2:00 p.m. This time, a 40-minute drive takes you to a remote jungle location where you’ll set up camp. Your guides will show you how to prepare hammocks and secure mosquito nets, setting up a cozy base for the night ahead.

Dinner will be a true Amazonian experience. For vegetarians, the jungle offers a variety of edible fruits and plants, while those seeking a more adventurous meal can try spear-fishing to catch dinner from the river. An open campfire will be prepared, where you’ll cook your meal under the canopy of the jungle.

As night falls, gather around the fire to hear stories of Amazonian culture, gazing up at the starry sky in a setting few get to experience. Sleeping in the heart of the jungle, surrounded by its sounds and beauty, promises to be one of the most unforgettable nights of your life.

Day 3

  • 8:00 a.m.: Breakfast.
  • Morning: Visit a native village. Learn about their lifestyle and culture, including traditional farming practices.
  • Lunch: With the native community.
  • Afternoon: Animal spotting in canoes and bird watching.
  • Evening: Spearfishing with the natives and searching for poisonous snakes.
  • Night: Stay in the native house, with hammocks and mosquito nets.

Your day begins with breakfast at 8:00 a.m., energizing you for an insightful visit to a native village nestled in the heart of the Amazon. Here, you’ll be introduced to a culture that flourishes without electricity or modern luxuries. Your guide will share insights into their daily lives, from growing crops to producing manioc flour, known locally as Farinha—a staple made from the manioc root that sustains these communities.

This visit provides a rare perspective on life in the jungle, offering an eye-opening glimpse into a lifestyle deeply connected to nature. Lunch is shared with the villagers, a warm gathering that deepens your understanding of their customs and traditions.

After lunch, the adventure continues on small, silent canoes, allowing you to quietly navigate the riverbanks in search of wildlife. As you paddle, you’ll keep an eye out for animals and exotic birds, savoring the peaceful sights and sounds of the jungle. As evening draws near, you’ll witness the sunset over the water—a beautiful moment of calm in the Amazon.

After sunset, the thrill of night activities begins. Joined by the locals, you’ll set out for spearfishing under the starlit sky, followed by a search for elusive, nocturnal creatures like poisonous snakes in the treetops. Returning to the village, you’ll dine on the fish you caught, enjoying a meal prepared in traditional Amazonian style.

Tonight, you’ll sleep in a native family’s home, settling into hammocks under mosquito nets for a true Amazonian experience, surrounded by the warmth and hospitality of the community.

Day 4

  • 7:00 a.m.: Breakfast.
  • Morning: Hiking or canoeing in the floating jungle, depending on the season.
  • Lunch: Return to the lodge.
  • Afternoon: Relax, swim, or canoe.
  • 7:00 p.m.: Dinner at the lodge.

The final day begins with a 7:00 a.m. breakfast, fueling you for one last exploration. After breakfast, you’ll depart the native house and head to the remarkable floating jungle. Depending on the season, this area transforms: during the dry season, you’ll trek on foot, while in the rainy season, you’ll glide through it by canoe. As you navigate this unique ecosystem, keep an eye out for wildlife, including the possibility of spotting a boa constrictor drifting through the jungle.

Following this immersive experience, you’ll return to the lodge for a well-deserved lunch. The afternoon is yours to relax—take a refreshing swim in the Amazon River or test your skills in an Amazonian canoe, savoring these final moments in the jungle.

As evening approaches, a farewell dinner will be served at the lodge around 7:00 p.m., marking the perfect end to your Amazonian adventure.

Day 5

  • 7:00 a.m.: Breakfast.
  • Morning: Learn about rubber production from the Seringeira tree.
  • Lunch: Return to the lodge.
  • Afternoon: Relax and prepare for departure.
  • 2:00 p.m.: Return to Manaus. Arrival around 4:00 p.m. and transfer back to your hotel or another desired location.

Your final morning in the Amazon begins with a 7:00 a.m. breakfast, setting the stage for a unique cultural experience. After breakfast, you’ll set out in traditional wooden canoes to a grove of rubber trees, where you’ll learn the fascinating art of rubber-making. Guided by your hosts, you’ll locate the Seringeira tree and tap its sap, or “milk,” to begin the process. A fire is built, and you’ll discover how this simple act connects to the larger story of the Amazon’s rubber boom from 1860 to 1910—a period that shaped both the region and global trade.

Following this hands-on activity, you’ll return to the lodge for lunch, with some time afterward to relax and pack up your belongings. At 2:00 p.m., you’ll begin the journey back to Manaus, retracing your route through the Amazon’s waterways. By 4:00 p.m., you’ll arrive at Seasa Port, where a driver will be waiting to return you to your hotel, marking the close of your Amazon adventure with memories of the rainforest and the people who call it home.
